Amending a pension plan
All amendments to the plan must be registered with Retraite Québec. In this section, administrators will find information about how to register amendments to a pension plan in accordance with the Supplemental Pension Plans Act.
Plans with fewer than 26 members and beneficiaries
An employer or a limited pension committee that is designated by the plan as the administrator is subject to the same obligations and responsibilities as the administrators of larger plans.
A few basic rules apply to amendments. Furthermore, the employer must generally consent to amendments and the plan members must be notified of amendments. Some amendments require Retraite Québec's approval or authorization.
