This service allows you to:

• find out which locked-in retirement accounts (LIRAs) and life income funds (LIFs) are offered by a particular financial institution;
• obtain a complete list of financial institutions offering LIRAs or LIFs;
• find out if an LIF offers a temporary income.

The name of the institutions corresponds to the name indicated on the latest version of the standard contract registered with Retraite Québec.

Institutions that stopped issuing new individual contracts are excluded from the list to the extent that Retraite Québec was informed of the situation.

This service:

• includes LIRAs and LIFs that are currently active and governed by the Regulation respecting supplemental pension plans, which comes under the Supplement Pension Plans Act.

  The funds in these LIRAs and LIFs originate directly or initially from:
  • a pension plan subject to the Supplemental Pension Plans Act (e.g. pension plan in the private, municipal or university sector of Québec);
  • a pension plan established by an Act or a government, such as the Government and Public Employees Retirement Plan (RREGOP);
  • a locked-in voluntary retirement savings plan (VRSP) account.
• does not include LIRAs and LIFs that:
  • are closed or have been revoked;
  • are subject to another law, such as those under federal jurisdiction.
