Payment of the pension for a disabled person's child
The pension for a disabled person's child under the Québec Pension Plan is payable until the child turn 18, even if he work. In 2023, the monthly pension for a disabled person's child is $89.45 for each child.
At the beginning of each year, we send a RL-2 slip for each child, indicating the total amount of benefits paid during the preceding year. Even if the pension for a disabled person's child is not paid directly to your child, it must nevertheless be considered as the child's personal income, and not as your income.
The pension for a disabled person's child ends at age 18, or before if:
- a disability pension under the Québec Pension Plan stops being paid
- your child dies
- the child who is not your son or daughter ceases to live with you
- your child starts receiving another pension for a disabled person's child or an orphan's pension under the Quebec pension plan or the Canada Pension Plan
