Profil des PME aptes à implanter un instrument d'épargne-retraite pour leurs employés

(Small businesses and employee pension plans; French only)

The Régie des rentes du Québec partnered with ÉducÉpargne (formely Question Retraite) and the Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services Chair at Université Laval to survey small business owners. The two-pronged study focused on small businesses that do not offer an employee pension plan, including a group registered retirement savings plan (RRSP), and small businesses that do offer an employee pension plan.

Among other things, this study helped us understand why some small businesses do not offer a pension plan as well as the advantages afforded to those that do. It also helped us gauge the pension plan knowledge of small business owners.

By analyzing the information gathered, the Régie was able to identify several characteristics of small businesses that are best suited to set up a pension plan. The study below summarizes the findings and profiles these small businesses. This information will help the Régie develop a focused communication strategy to better inform small businesses about pension plan advantages.
