Public pension plans

  • The retirement pension under the Québec Pension Plan will provide you with a basic income, if you have contributed sufficiently to the Plan.
  • In addition to the Québec Pension Plan, you will probably be entitled to your Old Age Security pension This link will open in a new window. paid by the federal government. Certain conditions apply, the main one being to have lived in Canada for at least 10 years after age 18.
  • If you worked elsewhere in Canada, you probably contributed to the Canada Pension Plan. This plan is integrated with the Québec Pension Plan, and your pension amount takes into account the contributions paid to both plans.
  • If you worked outside Canada, you may be entitled to a retirement pension from the country where you worked.
