Change in custody

When a child's custody is transferred from one parent to the other, or shared between both parents, the amount of child assistance paid for the child will be affected.

Consequently, it is important to report any change in the custody situation as soon as possible, to make sure that the financial assistance for the child is paid to the person or persons who take care of the child.

• You obtain or keep custody following the breakdown of your union
• You obtain shared custody
