Accessibility Policy
The Régie des rentes du Québec is committed to ensuring the accessibility of its Web site to people with disabilities or major technical limitations. Most of the current or future contents are or soon will be in conformity with the SGQRI 008 Standard, all in meeting with the schedule of application of the three (3) versions of this Standard by the Conseil du Trésor.
Improved accessibility on the Régie's Web site
To improve accessibility on our site, we have put into place some widely accepted accessibility standards:
- organize the contents of each page according to a hierarchy of titles and subtitles
- give a text equivalent for images
- distinguish the contents and structure from the presentation format by using cascading style sheets (CSS)
- use valid codes and style sheets
- develop coherent and clear navigation methods for the user
- use simple language as much as possible
- provide a link to go directly to page contents
- configure useful keyboard shortcuts

Accessibility methods by using keyboard shortcuts according to the navigator used
The accessibility methods are as follows:
- Internet Explorer (Windows): Alt and [accesskey], and Enter
- Internet Explorer (Macintosh): Ctrl and [accesskey], and Enter
- Mozilla, Netscape or FireFox (Windows): Alt and [accesskey]
- Opera 7 (Windows, Macintosh or Linux): Esc Shift and [accesskey]
- Safari 1.2 (Macintosh): Ctrl and [accesskey]
- Mozilla or Netscape (Macintosh): Ctrl and [accesskey]
- Netscape 4 or Safari before version 1.2 or Opera (Windows or Linux before version 7): accesskeys not supported.
