Disability benefits
What happens if a worker's state of health permanently deteriorates to the point that he or she is no longer able to work? If he or she is under age 65, has a severe and permanent disability recognized by the Régie and has made sufficient contributions to the Plan, he or she may qualify for a disability pension.
There are 2 types of disability benefits:
- The disability pension, which is paid to the person deemed to be disabled;
- The pension for a disabled person's child, which is added to a disabled person's pension if he or she has children under age 18 or if he or she has children who have been living with him or her for at least one year.
