Disability benefits

What happens if a worker's state of health permanently deteriorates to the point that he or she is no longer able to work? If he or she is under age 65, has a severe and permanent disability recognized by the Régie and has made sufficient contributions to the Plan, he or she may qualify for a disability pension.

There are 2 types of disability benefits:

  • The disability pension, which is paid to the person deemed to be disabled;
  • The pension for a disabled person's child, which is added to a disabled person's pension if he or she has dependent children under age 18.
