Disability pension under the Québec Pension Plan
Do you have a severe and permanent disability that prevents you from returning to work? If you have contributed sufficiently to the Québec Pension Plan, you could be entitled to a disability pension. We take into account the contributions you made from your 18th birthday to the month in which we deem you to be disabled. This is your
contributory period.
Important!
Certain terms regarding the disability pension have been reviewed. The changes come into force in January 2022 or in January 2024. You do not have any steps to take as all the files will be reviewed, and the required adjustments will be applied, if applicable.

Check your Statement of Participation in the Québec Pension Plan to see whether you have contributed sufficiently.
Important
If you become disabled before age 65 and you are receiving a retirement pension under the Québec Pension Plan that you can no longer cancel in order to receive a disability pension, you could be entitled to an
additional amount for disability.
