To contest a decision

If you are dissatisfied with one of our decisions concerning Family Allowance or the Supplement for Handicapped Children, you can file an application for review. The Act provides for a maximum of 90 days from the date on which we rendered our decision.

To file an application for review, you must complete an Application for Review form, or write to us, explaining the reasons in support of your application. If applicable, you can provide additional proof. The application and documents, as well as your Social Insurance Number or the client number shown on the decision being contested, can be sent to us online or mailed to the following address:

If we have not replied within 90 days after receiving your application for review, or within 180 days if we had to request additional information, you can file an appeal with the Administrative Tribunal of Québec without waiting for our review decision.
